According to a recent study, adults spend nearly one third of their lives at work or actively engaging in work. That means the people who you see and interact with every day at the office, or these days on the Zoom and WebEx calls, quickly become a major part of your life. At CONCORDE, this is a natural part of who we are. CONCORDE is, in one word, family. The company began as a small business back in 2007, and that theme has remained at the heart of the organization, even as it has grown to include more than 400 team members. We spoke with Project Manager Shi Jian Shu about being a part of the CONCORDE family and why it is so vital to the success of the company.

Since you started with CONCORDE, how has the company changed in your opinion?

The company has grown quite a bit since I have been here, and the facilities we are building have also become more complex.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I enjoy the people I work with and the interesting projects we work on. I have made some great friendships since I’ve been at CONCORDE. I also feel like I learn something daily about our customers process/products or just construction in general.

What does being a part of the CONCORDE Family mean to you?

It means there is always someone around willing to lend a hand when you need it and always having a group of people around to enjoy life’s wins with you.

What has been your most memorable experience with CONCORDE since you started?

There are many. One of them was being part of a large project team that lead to a historic project win in the pharmaceutical and biotech market. We started that proposal right before the pandemic lockdown began, but we worked hard through diversity to win it. I can’t wait to see that project be built.

In one word or phrase, how would you describe Gray as a company?

A family. No matter how large we become, we still feel like a small, close-knit group of people.
